It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I remember thinking how did he know to put the pursuit part in there? That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue and maybe we can actually never have it. No matter what. How did he know that?

A great quote. I like it. I have my own opinion about happiness though (I'm not that depressed). I just love how the scriptwriter arrange the words and make it powerful.. and beautiful.
I was working on an essay about poverty, tried to make it perfect but ended up feeling skeptical about it. Then I decided to watch this movie. Yeah, The Pursuit of Happyness visualizes it perfectly, the circle of poverty and the emotional life of people who strive against it.
I feel lucky.
